Dietary Impact on Brain Health Across the Lifespan

Age-related diseases will exponentially increase with an unprecedented growth in the aging population. The second highest fear of the aging population is developing cognitive decline. This fear is justified as there is no medical treatment to prevent cognitive decline. Dietary patterns are associated with brain aging and the development of diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and coronary artery disease that increase the risk of cognitive impairment. The work of the lab is to determine the role of diet on brain health across the lifespan.
