There are currently no approved, efficacious vaccines to prevent cCMV infection. Vaccine development is hindered by our lack of understanding of the maternal correlates of protection against infection. For this reason, we are interested in looking at the immunologic and virologic factors that impact intrauterine transmission and disease.
We use a wide variety of techniques, including immunohistochemistry, spatial transcriptomics, in-situ hybridization, flow cytometry, luminex, ultrasound, and quantitative real-time PCR.
